In The Village

Visit the castle, and the surrounding sculpture walk and community orchard

Stroll to Shell beach, a tranquil cove made up of crushed scallop shells (hence the name) - just down the hill from us

Take a walk around the village to White Shore another small cove directly opposite the house

Feeling slightly more energetic? Walk from the house up the hill and explore the paths, streams and waterfalls within the forest - pick up the path for the forestry commission walks known as The Corranbuie Walks which lead you back to the castle.

Tackle a section (or all!) of The Kintyre Way. Starting in Tarbert it is a 100 mile walk around the Kintyre peninsular.  Don't worry its broken down into managable sections with transport guides.  Visit www.kintyreway.com

Eat, drink and be merry in the lovely restaurants.

Try to catch your supper off the pier - rods are waiting for you in the garage!

Kayak Majik offer kayaking on the peaceful waters of West Loch

A little further afield .....

There are several beaches within easy driving distances

Westport with its large dunes and sandy beach is on of our favourites.  There is even a surf school in the summer.

Skipness Beach which overlooks the Isle of Arran and also has the impressive Skipness Castle in its grounds is a commonly deserted beach where you will often see seals basking in the water and on the beach.

Port Righ Bay @ Dunvalanree is a small sheltered beach safe for Children near to Carradale well worth a drive along the scenic route as you drive alongside Arran.

Southend has two lovely beaches and a seal colony, as well as caves, walks and a quirky tea room.

Take a day trip to the Islands, within just a few miles from Devana Croft you can board the ferries to explore the following islands and maybe take in a whiskey/gin distillery tour?

Arran

Islay

Jura

Gigha

Cycle the Crinan Canal, bike hire is available in Lochgilphead

Take a trip back in time through 6000 years of history. Kilmartin Glen is home to stone circles, standing stones and rock art.

Relax and unwind at Portavadie Leisure Complex with its infinity pool, hot tubs and sauna.

Try your hand as a cowboy/girl with Western style Horse riding at Lunga

Explore the water by chartering a boat, or riding the waves in the Seafari Adventure rib or for the really brave swim with basking sharks

Stay on dry land but still get up close to the fishes with a trip to The Scottish Sealife Santuary at Oban

Pretend you are an extra on Downton Abbey and visit Inveraray Castle or maybe imagine being locked in as a 19th century prisoner in Inveraray Jail.
